Genetic testing access programs

Genetic testing access programs support Invitae’s mission to make testing more accessible to patients who may have a hereditary condition. These programs pave the way for broader, more timely access to crucial genetic testing services by reducing financial barriers and streamlining the testing process for patients. Together, we can provide genetic information that can guide the best path forward and help advance health treatment options for patients with genetic conditions.

Programs may vary from country to country. See program-specific pages for more details.

Invitae offers two types of programs

  • Invitae UnlockTM

Invitae manages and promotes Invitae Unlock programs. For patients who may benefit from an Invitae Unlock program, Invitae will bill their insurance. If patients don’t have insurance benefits or insurance doesn’t cover the test, they may be eligible to receive testing at no charge.

By participating in these programs, clinicians and patients consent to share de-identified patient information and clinician contact information with third parties, such as researchers and commercial entities.

  • Sponsored testing

Invitae partners with biopharma companies on sponsored, no-charge testing programs to provide access to patients who meet certain eligibility criteria.

Biopharma partners receive de-identified patient data from these programs as well as contact information for the healthcare providers who use the programs. This data supports biopharma’s goal of advancing research for these conditions.

Our genetic testing access programs provide valuable information

Work to reduce time and misdiagnosis

Potentially help shorten the time to diagnosis and rule out differential diagnoses.

Clinical trial consideration

Help patients consider clinical trials.

Opportunity awareness
